| Birthday Dinner Recs |
[May. 31st, 2012|02:56 pm] |
Hi San Diegans,
I am looking for recommendations for dinner for 20+ people. My birthday is coming up and I am keeping it simple this year.
The kicker: this dinner will be during ComiCon weekend. I would like to avoid the regular swamped places.
Price is irrelevant, location is the more important thing. All kinds of food are welcome, but must have something for the stray veggie or two. Chain restaurants are out, and must have a good bar.
After all that, what do y'all have? At this point, I am leaning towards Mr. A's, but have never been there. |

Hi All,
Here are two useful resources for Comic-Con:
Comic-Con's Facebok page - Comic-Con posts useful info on their wll and the discussions on the "Recent Posts By Others" page can be very informative. The see the discussions, go to https://www.facebook.com/comiccon?sk=wall click on Highlights and select "Posts By Others."
And there is a non-official forum-style group at http://www.friendsofcci.com/forum/index.php. You can get the answers to most of your questions there. |

| Looking Someone To Share Room And Split The Cost |
[May. 28th, 2012|08:45 pm] |
I've got a room reserved at the San Diego Mission Valley Hilton from the July 11th to the 15th, checking out on Monday the 16th and I'm looking for someone willing to split the cost with me in exchange for sharing it. I've requested two beds and free breakfast for two is included with the room. It's not within walking distance of the convention but there will be shuttles conveniently running between the hotel and the con.
I would like to get the money for the room in cash the day of check in so I could use it for spending money for the week. I would prefer no smoking and no drugs. Other than that I can't think of any objections off the top of my head. As long as you pay your share up front and are reasonably considerate as a roommate then there should be no problems. |

| preview night |
[May. 25th, 2012|09:33 am] |
Just found this community and have been reading through all the previous entries, and everything under the 'preview night' tag. This is my first SDCC ever, well; my first trip overseas ever (I'm an Aussie girl) and I have some quests about preview night: - What time does Preview Night start / end? - Is the main Convention Hall / Artist's Alley open during Preview Night? Or is it just panels and stuff? - If you can get to the stalls, can you start buying exclusives on Preview Night?
We also don't have much info yet but here's a sneak peak of Mattel's SDCC exclusives. |
